I love books and I read a lot. This blog is mostly about books, with a bit of life thrown in. Thanks for visiting.
Yay! This group is pretty good, yes? I only wish you were in the video too. Love, Cindy
They're good, but the calls are mainstream for the most part. That's the first part you learn. It's interesting that you can dance mainstream years after you were a beginner and still enjoy it.
What a great idea. It looks like such fun.
HOLY CRAP, Maxie!!! That is TOUGH!! I'm impressed. But what is the deal with the music?? How about some down home music instead of that jazzy stuff?! :P I think you would have lost us after a minute or two. Our group would have ended up in a jumbled mess!
We dance at many levels. My husband and I stopped at Plus level, but some of the dancers here are very advanced. The calls are easy ones, but the dancers know exactly what they should do. Even so, I saw them mess up that night. I like to square dance fast! (when I can square dance at all, that is)
Awesome! I haven't square danced since I was in elementary school but I remember enjoying it a lot. I remember always wanting one of those fancy square dance skirts too :-)Now it looks like fabulous exercise!Cheers,jj
Joanne it is fabulous exercise. It's aerobic. It's ear to feet stuff. The caller calls and you react so it keeps your brain active. You meet a lot of really nice people as well. Twice a year some square dancers go camping together. We dance there too. You can see it at http://marilynnesmith.com/blogging
Blogger is losing some of my comments. Here's one from Willow (http://willowmanor.blogspot.com/)Marilynne----------------willow has left a new comment on your post "Thoughts of a year past": Happy Birthday!!! xx I went with a group of friends to a square dance once. We had so much fun. We didn't know what we were doing, but we jumped in a gave it a whirl. I think a smile was plastered on my face for weeks afterward. -----You could have a smile plastered on your face all the time if you took square dance lessons.Marilynne
I love comments - please?
